Responding to the market dynamics and the schedule of the main trade shows, 10,000 copies of Organic & Wellness News are printed in Canada twice a year (Spring and Fall).   • We require the use of Type 1 Fonts
  • Do not use multiple masterfonts
  • Please supply all fonts used in the artwork design. This includes fonts used in EPS graphics. If this is not possible please change applicable text to outlines
  • Do not use style options to customize a font; use the actual font itself.
Colour
  • All images must be CMYK
  • Make sure all graphic files used are supplied in the following manner:
    • Resolution - Color images 300dpi
    • Line Art 2400ppi
  • Note all colour specifications in graphic and page layout files need to be set to CMYK (process separation)
Colour Proof - Hardcopy

All digital files must be accompanied by a good colour digital print.

Remember, the prepress operator and printer will use your hard copy as a final guide.
Layout
  • All ads should be created at 100% of final print size published in the media kit.
  • Crop marks should be at trim size and should be 1/4" (0.63cm)away from trim. Any bleed in full page spreads and full pages should extend 1/8" (0.31cm) from trim.
  • Do not use the predefined "hairline" width rule within drawing or page layout applications.
  • Do not use smaller than 8 point bold type or type that is less than .01 inch at the thinnest part of a character or rule in areas that print in reverse.
  • In ads that have edge bleed (such as full page) keep important elements such as type a minimum 3/8" (0.95cm) away from the trim.
Additional Information
  • Advertisements created in “news style” must have the label “advertisement” on top or bottom of the page.
  • Requests for special position (cover, right hand side): 10% extra of rate card.
  • Production Charges: There will be an additional cost for any production charges necessary if material provided does not meet the digital specifications or if typesetting is needed. Cost will be discussed with client in advance if material has been provided at least one week prior to the deadline.
